Shadow

Once again the incredible art of @OmandOriginal provides inspiration for this old Wolf

I looked in a mirror,
All I could see
Was something that
I used to be …
Once upon a distant past,
Half in shadow.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow I enter the gates of Hell,
I doubt I shall ever return.
Oaths and promises made
Lie broken on the floor.
I am judged to be incomplete,
So must be made anew.
I don’t conform.
I don’t believe.
I question all,
Each and every answer.
I am not fit,
In any sense to teach, reform or aid.
Into Hell I shall go,
To fight,
To live,

To survive.

Redemption

Stripped from it's human case,
A soul stands before Redemption,
River of cleansing.
Immersion brings knowledge,
Of all that has been
To help what is to come.
Cleansing all the pain,
the torment,
the suffering,
the indecision.
Clarity fills the soul,
The cycle begins again.

Night Reclaims

                                        Fears and uncertainty
                                        surround us at night,
                                        unseen,
                                        unbidden,
                                        not close enough to touch
                                        but close enough to sense
                                        If night reclaims our hope,
                                        despair will hold our hands,
lead us to a cage of tears
to view what might have been.

Mono by James Knight

Ah bugger it

As hard to read as to review, in the sense of walking blindfolded along a cliff path not knowing if the next step (word) is safe.

Mind warping illustrations; making the edgy text even more worrying.

A book that turns your whole head inside-out then leaves it there to wither.

Prose that worms it’s way into your psyche and sits there .. brooding

Characters that are connected but yet disconnected; like a bucket of Lego™ without instructions.

Nightmares fuelled by psychosis

A stunning book you cannot ignore or forget; exceptional work from a genius, illustrated to perfection.

In short buy it, read it, hope you survive.

The Stealth Bomber

It was Mrs. Harrington who was the first casualty, the first person to engage with the ferocity of the payload, so accurately and quickly delivered. She was expounding the virtues of Arkwrights flour to Betty Birdsall, who gazed lovingly at her hero as she spoke ….
“What in all god’s names is that?”

Those few brief words were all Mrs. Harrington spoke for many days, her eyes rolled up, she gagged uncontrollably then with a long sigh collapsed in Aisle 8 (Baking and Kitchen Goods) of Bresco, the only supermarket in Gresley Station.

To be continued .....
