The stale taste of sweat and tears, the wasted youth
Living in the nightmare years
Mistakes and adversity
Shift blame
From pillar to post
The sour smell of anxiety and regret
The lost time
Bleeding through the despair
Wrongful decisions
Emptiness and a lack of care.
The Touch of evil
The streak that runs within
Softly and gently it begins
To rip the fabric of a soul
Long discarded
Locked in the bowels of sadness
The Sound of the gun
An explosion of rage
That comes from the heart of someone
Holes grow in the target
That only me
My minds eye can see
The Sight of crass selfishness
Stares back at me
From a shard of self respect
Stabbed deep within the eye
Embedded in skull
That no one can take from me
