A padded foot falls softly on the stair ......creak

Another foot treads quietly on the floor.....creak

Softly, quietly, one step at a time, closer....creak

Closer, closer, until you smell their breath….creak

So snuggle down and please don't listen......creak

For if you hear them, it is far too late....creak

Once you hear them, they know you are there....creak

They take you from your bed, so warm....creak

Then eat you whole and hardly chew...creak

So shut your eyes and ears really tight...creak

And go to sleep as quick as you can….creak

For if you hear them, it will be your last ... Goodnight
